Crews started work in Granlibakken on September 18, 2006. The work is being completed by NCC hand crews. The project area is approximately 12 acres, with an even split between SEZ and upland areas. The treatment will help to complete a shaded fuel break around the community that was begun in 2004. This project is part of the Placer County biomass initiative and all of the material is being chipped and moved into the biomass market. The project is being funded by H.R. 2359.
