S. Rubicon is 80% complete and we are on or under budget.   The project is a 28 acre shaded fuel break adjacent to D.L. Bliss state park.  The area has expansive SEZ’s and is quite complex to treat.  Lahontan RWQCB has agreed to open a corridor through the SEZ for our chipper to access the southern edge of the unit and this has opened additional areas where we will be able to work.  We will also be able to chip some large piles from the adjacent upland.  The Green’s have committed to

paying for treatment of the defensible space zone around the structures on the western side of the property, and that work is nearly completed as well.  The wood from the project has been bucked and stacked by the road.  During early October the wood will be split and delivered by youth groups to low income elderly and disabled residents of Tahoe.  We expect to give away 30 cords of wood.
