Why Form a Chapter
    • The threat of wildfire to property and lives grows every year.  To reduce this threat and increase community protection requires local action by concerned citizens.
    • Every successful community action effort needs a focal point, a local organization to bring attention to the issues and provide an avenue for interested individuals to become involved.
    • The Nevada Fire Safe Council can provide support to bring educational programs and expertise to the local chapter and assist in developing local programs and projects.
    • The Nevada Fire Safe Council can accept and manage grants and contracts on the chapter’s behalf through its non-profit status.
    • The Nevada Fire Safe Council can assist local chapters in identifying funding sources and submitting grant applications to complete identified priority projects.
    • Chapters become part of a larger network for sharing information and lessons learned.
    • Collectively chapters form a strong political voice to influence legislation and funding.
    • Chapters are part of the information loop that receives notification of programs and funding opportunities.
